Here's a chance to own a brilliant little car that's a fun practical town or country runabout and a miniature road rocket to boot.
This class of car is a product of the Japanese tax system based on engine size, overall dimensions and weight, so it has a 660 cc engine (like the Daihatsu Copen) all be it turbo charged, that produces 67 bhp in standard form, it's also very light which adds to the performance. Certain key components are restricted on a standard Mira Classic to limit the performance, this car has had these up graded.
The improvements are:
Larger hybrid turbo
Stainless steel exhaust system
Hi flow induction system
Free flow inter-cooler
The current power output is unknown.
The 3 cylinder engines on these cars are renown for their toughness and can easily cope with the extra power, it red lines at 8000 rpm. The gearbox is unusual because its possible to select 2 or 4 wheel drive, all be it on the gearbox itself, so the mpg would be better than the average of 44 if you wanted it to be, (roll on summer).
Space wise it is a small car but has 5 doors and will take 4 good size adults as long as they are on friendly terms, I've used the Mira for long motorway journeys but to be honest its best buzzing around town or country lanes, its easy to park and you can even get shopping in the back. Its also cheap to tax and insure.
Body wise its very good for its age there's a minor scrape on the drivers rear wheel arch and bumper but that's about it there are no other trolley dings or scratches. The interior is also excellent, and has full black leather seats with red piping, Momo factory fitted wood steering wheel, wood effect dash trim, air conditioning, electric windows, central locking and speed sensitive electric steering.
The only thing letting the car down at the moment are the alloys which could do with re-furbishment.
The mechanicals were overhauled and serviced by myself about 2 months ago. The battery was replaced about 1 month ago.
The ONLY reason I'm having to sell is a 4 figure fine imposed on me after a "friend" to whom I gave a car, to failed to change the documentation over after promising to do so, the government are robbing you anyway they can these days. The Classic is currently on SORN.
Having said that I'm not giving it away either but will consider all sensible offers. I want it to go to a good home, these cars are becoming very collectable.
