Originally built as a mobility vehicle, with carpeted rear, and flip up rearward facing seats for two in the back. HPi certificate shows some accident damage early on in its life, but at this price I cannot see how it would matter to anyone, it certainly did not to us, I just want to be fair in an accurate description. Mileage is believed genuine at 42,000 miles but cannot be verified, but certainly the vehicle has the look of it being correct and it is in pretty good condition for its age. Acouple of dents on the tailgate, as can be seen in picture, but MoT`d until March 2012 & Taxed until end of February 2012. The car runs great and is in all round good condition. I will really miss diving it, as its so much fun to drive. Its extremely nippy with its turbo. The engine packs a very nice 130 bhp, however the car still remains very economical. The insurance cost on it is fairly low. You won`t see many of these cars about, they are rare especially the turbo model. I`ve seen this same model on on ebay selling at £3000 - £3500. The transmission is automatic (the only transmission for turbo models). Do not be put off if you normally drive manual transmissions, you will love this optional fully auto or semi auto transmission. I personally now much prefer this to a manual and all my future cars will be automatic. You can control the 4 gears of the semi auto function by controlling it using the buttons on the steering wheel (tiptronic) or using the centre gear shifter.The car has been serviced regularly from new by Daihatsu and the same garage with dealer stamps in the service booklet. The service intervals are as follows:6000 miles - Daihatsu8803 miles - Garage12288 miles - Garage13919 miles - Garage24265 miles - Garage28040 miles - Garage37206 miles - Garage44247 miles - Garage52983 miles - Garage62000 miles - MyselfI have owned the car for 6 months and have serviced it once, which included an oil change, new oil filter, general inspection, top up and check of all fluids, greased all door hinges. It also has some receipts and previous mot`s etc. I cannot see any receipts to show the cam belt being changed, so this would be something you may want to replace soon.In my opinion the car drives great with no turbo or other mechanical issues. This will make an excellent, reliable and fun car to drive for someone. It says 4 previous keepers on the log book, but I believe it may only be 2 actual owners/drivers of the car. I bought it from a garage who acquired it from a Daihatsu dealership, I believe these may have registered the car also. I was told the previous owner was disabled.MOT`d til 22nd July 2012Taxed til 30th April 2012Bad points:Some signs of wear on a couple of the alloys. I have pictured the worst alloy. Purely visual.One of the tyres goes down slowly over time. For some reason this occurred to the only new tyre I bought for the car. Maybe an easy fix.Possibly some minor surface scratches.Please remember if you make an offer, this will be the price you will have to pay. I will not accept haggling later on. Mar 12 and Tested Sept 12 This has had 1 previous owner and myself (both women) so has been looked after. This car is in great mechanical condition and has NEVER let me down in the 1.5 years i have owned it and is used every day for my commute to work and for socialising. It is semi-automatic which means you can drive it like a regular automatic or choose to use the gears manually on the steering wheel, minus a clutch. It has an immaculate interior and comes with a fitted CD player, alloys, electric windows, ABS and airbags this car also has no CAM belt (it has a chain instead) meaning no costly CAM belt repairs. The only downside to this reliable little car is that a week prior to sale the back door was knocked by another vehicle who did not stop leaving a small dent in the rear door (still fully functioning) which i do not have time to fix, i have taken this into account in price i am asking for so please do not let this put you off a fab car! £1000 - I will take any reasonable offer into account X | £1000.00 | |||||||

All the tyres are good and it sailed through it`s last mot, only requiring a rear exhaust box. The previous owner she had owned it since 01 07 2000, and has looked after it well. When the two-seater arrived, its petite dimensions and cool retro styling bowled me over, and I enjoyed the attention it attracted. A Ferrari driver accidentally mounting the kerb while rubbernecking at the little Japanese motor was particularly satisfying. The Copen is not the most masculine of cars. And while its proportions make it ideal for nipping through traffic and parking in tight spaces, they don`t command respect from other road users.What`s more, sitting so low down, you can`t be sure other drivers have spotted you - as another member of the Auto Express team discovered. They were hit from behind by a van while in a traffic jam. The driver was `unaware` the Copen was in front of him. Fortunately, the only damage was a scratch to the bumper and a cracked light.While I enjoyed the Daihatsu`s drop-top action over the summer, there were times I longed for a more conventional vehicle. So I swapped cars for a while. Although our long-term Honda Accord Tourer proved invaluable when I moved flats, it simply didn`t get me excited. Our Smart Roadster proved more appealing, though. I really enjoyed its racier engine - the Daihatsu`s is turbocharged and rev to 8,000rpm.I be-lieve the Copen is great to own. For starters, its folding hard roof makes the Roadster`s targa top look primitive. Additionally, with the lid up the Daihatsu`s boot has quite a bit of room, with space for two suitcases or a picnic basket. It`s a push to get a sports bag in the Smart`s hold. What`s more, the Japanese car`s steering has better feel, there`s a proper manual gearbox and the driving position is far more comfortable. Better still, the Copen has air-con as standard and a leather pack (including heated seats and a Momo steering wheel) available as a option.On the downside, the interior feels cramped with the roof up, and it`s a pain having to carry the stereo`s flip-off front whenever you leave the car. Although durable and well put together, the plastics feel low rent. A rattle developed in the roof lining, but this was fixed at the first service. Amazingly, this has been the only problem - apart from the prang. What`s more, none of the alloy wheels is scratched, which is incredible considering London`s unforgiving kerbs. All in all, life with the Copen hasn`t always been a picnic, but it`s just a shame that now that I`ve made up my mind I could happily live with it, the car is going back to Daihatsu. I hope whoever has the little two-seater next enjoys it as much as I have.
